Cellular Sales, founded and headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, joins Spirit Airlines, television maker Vizio, Dunkin Donuts and GoDaddy.com among other prominent brands featured on this year’s list.

“We are honored to be included on the list for the fourth straight year,” said Scism. “We will use this honor as a Inc 5000 logochallenge to continue learning from our customers how to better serve their needs and to exceed their expectations so that we can make the list again in 2012.”

Cellular Sales, Verizon Wireless’ largest premium retailer, conducts ongoing customer satisfaction research that ties into sales training and education.  The company also expanded its customer service abilities by opening a national call center in Knoxville in 2010.

Cellular Sales continues to climb on Inc. magazine’s list of the nation’s fastest growing companies

Posted by – August 26, 2010

Knoxville, Tenn. Inc. magazine listed Cellular Sales at No. 72 on its list of the nation’s fastest growing companies according to gross dollars of growth. Cellular Sales was ranked No. 1,856 on the fourth annual overall list of the nation’s fastest growing companies (up from No. 2,069 last year).  The “Inc. 5,000” represents a comprehensive look at America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

Growth for Cellular Sales was reported at 147 percent according to Inc. magazine.  The magazine ranked Cellular Sales No. 96 on the “Inc. 5,000” list of the nation’s fastest-growing privately held retail companies.  The magazine reported that Cellular Sales’ 2006 revenue of $127.9 million grew to $316.1 million last year.

“When we started with one Cellular Sales store in 1993, we said we were going to stand out from other companies by providing the kind of customer service that turns customers into dedicated fans who don’t want to do business anywhere else,” said Dane Scism, founder and CEO of Cellular Sales.  “We do things that other companies cannot or will not do – and our success comes from that philosophy.

“Every single customer who purchases a wireless device from us gets a call from Cellular Sales within 24 hours.  We call to see what their in-store experience was like.  We make sure they understand how their new phone operates and make sure they understand their service plan.  It’s just one more way Cellular Sales guarantees that our customers are getting unparalleled service.”

Cellular Sales, Verizon Wireless’ largest premium retailer, also conducts ongoing analysis of its customers’ phone usage so the company can notify customers when other service plans would be more cost effective for them.

“In spite of economic ups and downs, Cellular Sales has averaged 30 percent growth every year,” Scism explained.  “You can only do that by making sure your customers are happy with you.  We have customer satisfaction numbers that show our training and business model works.”

Cellular Sales is a 17-year old privately held company founded and headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn.  The company currently operates throughout the United States.  By year end, Cellular Sales will open at least 50 new stores in markets across the United States, bringing the company’s total number of locations to around 400.  For the past three years, Inc. Cellular Sales, nation’s largest Verizon Wireless retailer, is in top 200 for fastest-growing retailers

Posted by – September 2, 2009

Cellular Sales LogoKnoxville, Tenn. –  Inc. magazine ranked Cellular Sales No. 183 on the “Inc. 5,000” list of the nation’s fastest-growing privately held retail companies.  Cellular Sales was ranked No. 2,069 on the third annual overall list of the fastest growing companies.  The Inc. 5,000 represents a comprehensive look at America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

Growth for Cellular Sales, which was also named on the 2008 list, was reported at 153.9 percent according to Inc. magazine.  The magazine reported that Cellular Sales’ 2005 revenue of $81.7 million had grown to $207.3 million in 2008.

“Cellular Sales’ ranking on this year’s Inc. 5,000 list is a testimony to customer service,” said Dane Scism, founder and CEO of Cellular Sales.  “Our business model is based on treating every customer as if they were our only customer.  People notice it when you take care of them.

Inc50002“How many people are there that know exactly who to call – by name – when they have a question about their cell phone or their service plan?  Our customers have a name and contact number for their own personal wireless consultant, a real person they can talk to right there in their own community.  We’re proud of the way we take care of customers, and we know it is the reason we are growing.”

For the past 15 years, Cellular Sales has consistently outperformed the rest of its industry, and is now the nation’s largest retailer of Verizon Wireless.  By year end, Knoxville, Tenn.-based Cellular Sales will open 50 new stores, bringing the company’s total number of locations to over 300.

“When the economy is booming, growth is expected,” Scism said.  “But companies that are growing in spite of the economy – like Cellular Sales – have to be doing something different.”

For Second Year, Oak Ridge Staffing Firm, RecruitWise Makes Inc. 5000 List

Posted by – August 27, 2009

RecruitWiseLogoOak Ridge, TN Inc. magazine ranked RecruitWise No. 2738 on its third annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.  The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.  The Oak Ridge-based company, RecruitWise, provides technology recruiting and staffing services in Tennessee.

“We’re honored to be on this year’s list again,” says Glenn Zahn, RecruitWise founder and CEO.  Zahn admits he was surprised to have jumped more than 1200 spots from No. 4013, the rank his firm received last year.  “There’s a good possibility many of those companies either didn’t survive the recession or have leveled off.”

Zahn credits the growth in 2008 to his staff’s flexibility.  “We didn’t stand still when the economy started to worsen,” says Zahn.  RecruitWise, a company that focused exclusively on IT placements, expanded its capabilities and worked with executive placements as well.  RecruitWise is similar to other companies on the Inc. 5000 list in that way.  According to Inc. magazine, despite the ongoing recession, aggregate revenue among the 5,000 featured companies actually increased to $214 billion, up $29 billion from last year, with a median three-year growth rate of 126 percent.

Inc5000 logoEven though unemployment has risen significantly in 2009, the need for the company’s services is on the rise, according to Zahn.  “One out of every ten people is unemployed in Tennessee, which means there’s an influx of candidates but fewer jobs.  It can be a nightmare for the average human resource department that gets flooded with unqualified applicants.”

RecruitWise offers qualified candidates for its clients who need to find ‘the right fit.’  “When a company works with RecruitWise, there are no piles of resumes or unqualified online applicants to trudge through,” says Zahn.  “We qualify and guide our candidates through the hiring process; drastically cutting the total time and effort to hire.”

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.Inc.com.  More information about RecruitWise can be found at www.RecruitWise.jobs
