Cellular Sales employees organize bake sale and blood drive for colleague’s son with bone cancer

Knoxville, Tenn. – When employees at the new Cellular Sales National Call Center in Knoxville found out one of their co-workers’ son was diagnosed with bone cancer, they wanted to help.  Four people quickly went to work organizing a massive blood drive and bake sale that will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the company’s offices at 9038 Cross Park Drive NW across from the U.S. Post Office near Cedar Bluff Road.

Mark Dugger, the National Call Center Manager for Cellular Sales, said, “We all work closely here – we’re like a big family.  When one of us is hurting, all of us hurt.  We really just wanted to do something to help this family in any way we could, and this is what we came up with.”

Kathy Crawford, a two-year Cellular Sales employee based in Knoxville, found out her 12-year old son, Mathew Crawford, had bone cancer this summer.

Anyone interested in purchasing baked goods or donating blood to help the Crawford family should stop by the Cellular Sales National Call Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010.
